Na een jaar vertraging heeft een groot jachthavenproject in het Huelin-gebied van Malaga goedkeuring gekregen om verder te gaan. De ontwikkeling, gelegen net ten westen van het stadscentrum, zal 506 ligplaatsen voor jachten omvatten, evenals een luxe winkel- en eetcomplex met luxe merken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De havenautoriteit van Malaga heeft groen licht gegeven voor het project, dat zal worden gefinancierd door Al Alfia, een investeringsfonds uit Qatar. Het gebied nabij de wijk Huelin en het centraal station van de stad zal daardoor naar verwachting de komende jaren ingrijpende veranderingen ondergaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De beslissing komt na een jaar van controverse, waarin de op de tweede plaats geplaatste bieder in het aanbestedingsproces juridische stappen ondernam wegens vermeende onregelmatigheden. De rechtbanken beslisten uiteindelijk echter in het voordeel van het winnende bod en het Havenbedrijf heeft nu de concessie van land- en watergebieden voor de jachthaven goedgekeurd voor een eerste periode van 50 jaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De jachthaven wordt ingericht voor middelgrote en kleine pleziervaartuigen, met ligplaatsen van 8 tot 50 meter lengte.
